  I saw this movie on AMC many years ago, and I have never forgotten it. It is funny and poignant at the same time. I would love to see it again and I sure wish I could find it on DVD!!

After the attack, their small town of Hamlin outside of San Francisco is cut off from the rest of the world as radiation takes its toll, and Carol tries to help her children cope with the tragedy. Jane Alexander received an Oscar nomination.
