It doesn't help that her mother (Gena Rowlands) never misses the chance to point out that Nora is now in her thirties and not in a solid relationship. Adding to her discontent is that her best friend Audrey (Drea de Matteo) just celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary with her adoring husband Mark (Tim Guinee)–but Audrey does question whether she is really in a "perfect marriage." Then Nora meets and falls for well-known French actor Julien (Melvil Poupaud) who asks her to go to France with him. Nora declines, but later, at Audrey's urging, Nora throws caution to the wind, and the two women fly to Paris in search of Julien. It turns out that Nora has lost Julien's phone number and he has a common name, which result in a search involving a more than a few humorous moments.
