When their yacht runs aground during a storm, Stan and Oliver (Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy) are stranded on an atoll with their cook Giovanni Copini (Adriano Rimoldi) and stowaway Antoine (Max Elloy). They are soon joined by a nightclub singer Cherie Lamour (Suzy Delair) who has run away from her domineering fiance. They form their own republic, and life is good–until they discover Uranium on the atoll, word gets out, and the world powers fight for control. This marks Laurel and Hardy's final feature film.
