Cosmopolitan journalist Edith Iglauer (Jaclyn Smith) travels to British Columbia to write a satiric story in the local fishing industry. There she meets loner fisherman John Daly (Tim Matheson). Though complete opposites, love blossoms as she changes her attitudes about the local way of life as well as about the fishing industry. This made-for-TV film is based on Edith Iglauer's book "Fishing With John."
