This is a made-for-TV musical version of the classic Carlo Collodi story about the marionette Pinocchio (Sandy Duncan). Pinocchio was crafted by woodcarver Geppetto (Danny Kaye), and when Pinocchio comes to life, he gets into many scrapes–culminating at a mysterious island where Pinocchio is threatened with being turned into a donkey. The music is a highlight of this film.
