Almost one year ago, six-year-old Sophie disappeared from the Port Authority bus terminal in NYC, and her father, William (Damian Lewis), is not dealing well with it. In fact, William is fighting schizophrenia when he meets Lynn (Amy Ryan) and her seven-year-old daughter, Kira (Abigail Breslin). The three bond, for awhile, but then Lynn packs up Kira and takes her to her father in Albany–leaving William, once again, void of human ties.

Director: Paul Greengrass Cast: JJ Johnson, Gary Commock, Polly Adams, Trish Gates, David Alan Basche, Opal Alladin, Starla Benford, Christian Clemenson, Cheyenne Jackson, Richard Bekins, Susan Blommaert, Nancy McDoniel, Liza Colon-Zayas
British director Paul Greengrass presents this documentary-style re-enactment of events, based on honest assumptions of passengers' reactions that day on September 11, 2001, when United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. The story flashes back and forth between air traffic control centers and the flight itself as ordinary people were caught in a dire situation during which they colllectively determined to resist the terrorists now flying the plane by rushing the cockpit–or die trying to accomplish their heroic deed. The film recieved two Oscar nominations, including Best Director.
