  Grieving over the death of their son, Rae and John Ingram (Nicole Kidman and Sam Neill) take a yachting trip to find some peace. Their trip of leisure changes after Rae and John rescue Hughie Warriner (Billy Zane) from his sinking schooner. He tells Rae and John that the other passengers died of food poisoning. John doesn't believe Hughie and boards the schooner to investigate–and the nightmare begins.
