This film tied for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. The story revolves around siblings–Sammy (Laura Linney) and Terry (Mark Ruffalo)–who were orphaned as children and whose lives have subsequently taken divergent paths. Now, Terry comes to visit Sammy after being away for two years. Terry stays for awhile, but personality differences ultimately drive them apart. Laura Linney was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.
