Bored and discontented, middle-class businessman Edmund Burke (William H. Macy) stops by a tarot reader storefront on his way home from work. That act begins his downhill spiral into the city's violent underworld where Edmund responds in kind.

This low-budget effort is supposed to be a spoof of the biggie sci-fi flicks of the day, but the rocket fuse must have gotten wet. In the 31st century, the interstellar police are on their way to recover "The Blue Star" jewel. On the way, the crew must fill in the time: a crewmember falls in love with a robot; the captain swallows an egg, which turns out to be an alien; and so it goes. Dorothy Stratten, the Playboy Playmate, plays Galaxina the robot, and Stratten was murdered around the time of this film's premiere.

"Re-Animator" director Stuart Gordon brings us a brutal story of drifter Sean (Chris McKenna) who accepts a job from construction boss Ray (Daniel Baldwin) and Ray's henchman Duke (George Wendt) to follow and, later, kill a man. After completing the job, Sean learns that he will not be paid, so he threatens the pair with the fact that he has evidence on Ray. Sean is taken hostage by them and tortured in unimaginable ways during which he undergoes a change in character. Revenge will be sweet–and brutal.

In Providence, Rhode Island, nurse's assistant Brandi Boski (Mena Suvari) celebrates the possibility of a job promotion at a bar with co-worker Tanya (Rukiya Bernard). Brandi drinks too much, and when she drives home, she runs into a homeless man, Tom (Stephen Rea). The impact smashes Tom through Brandi's broken windshield. Knowing that the accident will ruin her promotion possibilities, Brandi drives the car into her garage and plans to let Tom die there. But, Tom doesn't die and now realizes that he, and he alone, must save himself from certain death.
