This historical reenactment tells the story of how, in 1877, the courageous Chief Joseph (Ned Romero) refused to live on a reservation and led his Nez Perce Indians on a 1,700 mile trek, during which he was pursued by U.S. Army General Oliver O. Howard (James Whitmore) and his troops. But, after more than three months, the Nez Perce were sick and starving. Chief Joseph surrendered with his speech, "from where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever." He may have lost the war, but he won the hearts of the American people.

This film adaptation of Richard J. Matheson's "I Am a Legend" is about a bacteriological-war survivor, Col. Robert Neville (Charlton Heston), who guards a life-saving serum in his Los Angeles high-rise apartment while fighting off mutated zombies led by Matthias (Anthony Zerbe). Neville believes that he is the sole survivor on Earth until he encounters a group of young people, led by Lisa (Rosalind Cash). Neville becomes romantically involved with Lisa, and, together, they try to suppress the zombies. The original movie adaptation of "I Am a Legend" was made as "The Last Man on Earth" in 1964 and starred Vincent Price as the lone survivor. It was again re-made in 2007 as "I Am Legend."
