While searching for a legal avenue that will lead to his freedom, Pam learns that Russell suffers from post-traumatic shock syndrome after fighting in the Vietnam War. An appeal is made, and it fails. As the execution date nears, tensions mount in the relationship of Pam and Keith.

A warm, hilarious, nostalgic film, in particular for anyone who had grown up in the Midwest during the 1940's. Narrated by Jean Shepard who also wrote the novel on which it was based.

Based on a true story, this creepy tale is about an unstable, Wisconsin farmer who is made even more unstable by his domineering mother. When she dies, he misses her so much that he digs her up and preserves her. He then kills and stuffs other women to keep her company. Roberts Blossom does a good job as the psycho–making the viewer even more uneasy. "Psycho" and "The Texas Chairsaw Massacre" are also based on the story of Ed Gein, the psychotic killer.

When Veronica urges Seth to experiment with human beings, Seth uses himself as a guinea pig and becomes part of his teleportation experiment during which his own molecules are inadvertently mixed up with those of a fly. There is a sequel.

| | Surprise ending | Smokey 04/06/2009 | | I didn't really want to go see this movie in 1976. But the surprise ending has stuck with me all these years and after all these years it is still one of my favorites. Cliff Robertson was great in it too! |
