  Despite growing up as the daughter of conservative spending parents (Joan Cusack and John Goodman), Rebecca (Isla Fisher) loves shopping for clothes and has incurred over 10,000 dollars in credit card debt. She dreams of working for the elite fashion magazine, "Alette," but lands a job as an advice columnist for a finance company. Rebecca keeps her own financial problems a secret while her column becomes a great success. As her career soars, Rebecca finds it more and more difficult to hide her money troubles from her readers–and even more so from her boss Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy) when romance blooms between them.

  Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is a billionaire inventor of U.S. weapons who is kidnapped by terrorists in Afghanistan. Now he is free and discovers that there is a power out there that plans to destabilize the world. Despite objections from his business partner Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) and assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Tony puts on his armored suit and, as Iron Man, vows to protect the world from his weapons that had fallen into the hands of the U.S. enemies.

  After robbers break into Clyde Shelton's (Gerard Butler) home and kill his wife and daughter, Assistant DA Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) makes a deal, which gives one of the killers, Clarence Darby (Christian Stolte), only a few years in prison when he testifies against his partner, Rupert Ames (Josh Stewart). Ten years later, Clyde exacts revenge and kidnaps, tortures, and maims Clarence. After Clyde is arrested and jailed, he warns Nick that he will go on a killing spree if Nick cannot fix the fouled-up justice system that is not executing killers.

The evening turns into what will seem like a very long (even though the film time is only 87 minutes) exercise in drinking and drugging.
