The Royal Hunt of the Sun   1969     2 and a half stars    G, 120 min.
Genre: Adventure
Director: Irving Lerner
Cast: Robert Shaw, Christopher Plummer, Nigel Davenport, Leonard Whiting, Michael Craig, Andrew Keir, William Marlowe, James Donald, Percy Herbert, Alexander Davion

If it's historical accuracy you're after, this tale of Spanish explorer Pizarro (Robert Shaw) and his trek into Peru will disappoint, but the story is entertaining. While looking for Incan treasures, Pizarro meets Incan God/King Atahualpa (Christopher Plummer) and becomes torn between his quest and a developing admiration for the king. Based on a successful stage play by Peter Shaffer.
