| | Anonymous 01/20/2007 | | If I could rate this movie any higher than a 10, I would. This is one of the most amazing, inspiring, heartwarming movies I have ever seen. I will never know Leonardo DiCaprio for anything other than this movie, which is by far, one of the best I've ever seen. Despite being incredibly long, I was captivated in every moment of this romantic story taking place during one of the most tragic events in history. Never a dull moment, I laughed and cried more during this movie than I had ever done in any other movie before. This shouldn't even be called a movie. It should be called an epic. |

Now, Becky (Juliette Lewis) and her grandmother (Penelope Branning) arrive in town, and Becky opens up Gilbert's eyes to the value of considering his own happiness, which will, of course, disrupt his obligations to family and to Betty as well. That's a long time ago, so I can't get down with details, but wanted to say that I felt deeply involved while watching Gilbert Grape, and I found myself thinking about this movie for many weeks afterwards. Definitley worth the time and money. |
