| | Great movie | Anonymous Guy 03/18/2009 | | Invasion of the Body Snatchers was a great movie! Great plot, great cast (Lenard Nimoy was great!) and the music was good too. It makes you think, what if that really happened? If body snatchers from another planet took over earth? What if you could trust no one? What if you were the last remains of the human race? That would be so depressing. The movie is not only reaching, but a little profound in a way. In short, I loved it. |

Star Trek: The Cage 1965 TV, 70 min. Genre: Sci-Fi / Adventure
Director: Robert Butler Cast: Jeffrey Hunter, Leonard Nimoy, Susan Oliver, Majel Barrett, John Hoyt, Peter Duryea, Laurel Goodwin, Michael Dugan, Robert Phillips, Ed Madden, Jon Lormer, Leonard Mudie, Janos Prohaska, Bob Johnson, Joseph Mell
This is the pilot for the original series; it was rejected by the network and was thus made over with a new cast, with Leonard Nimoy being the only major player to remain. Parts of this pilot were used in the two-part episode "The Menagerie," which brought back Enterprise's first captain, Christopher Pike (Jeffrey Hunter), and again was set in Talos IV. This episode was released in 1986. Pike leads a landing party to Talos IV to investigate a distress signal and is captured by the highly intelligent inhabitants who are able to manipulate the mind through illusions. Now Spock and the rest of Enterprise's crew must figure out how to save the day. 1 User Review

| | Best Trek | Anonymous 08/09/2007 | A must see classic Star Trek adventure.
More a journey of the mind then a visual cascade of today's sci fi stories.
It really does stand alone quite well as a work of provocative entertainment.
Star Trek: The Cage and the resulting 3 season of the original series are STAR TREK, PERIOD.
No to be confused with any of the bland spin off series that where to follow later. |

Star Trek: The Motion Picture 1979 G, 132 min. Genre: Action / Sci-Fi / Horror / Thriller

His old crew is with him, and Kirk's mission is to prevent a gigantic alien power, calling itself "V'ger," from reaching Earth. Kirk must uncover what "V'ger's" true purpose is in order to secure the safety of Earth. The special effects alone make this film one worth watching.

The Sun Also Rises 1984 TV, 200 min. Genre: Drama
Director: James Goldstone Cast: Jane Seymour, Hart Bochner, Robert Carradine, Zeljko Ivanek, Ian Charleson, Leonard Nimoy, Stephane Audran, Andrea Occhipinti, Elisabeth Bourgine, Hutton Cobb
This remake of Henry King's 1957 "The Sun Also Rises" pales by comparison to the first rendition of Hemingway's classic tale about the "Lost Generation" of expatriates who roamed Europe between the two World Wars. Nicely photographed.

This is one of the best early films of the science fiction genre. The plot evolves from the Army's efforts to control the spread of giant ants–the result of nuclear testing in America's Southwest.

Trekkies 1998 PG, 86 min. Genre: Documentary
Director: Roger Nygard Cast: Denise Crosby, LeVar Burton, Frank D'Amico, William Shatner, James Doohan, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, DeForest Kelley, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei
This documentary offers an affectionate view of those died-in-the-wool Star Trek fans: the Trekkies. Perhaps one of the most interesting moments is the interview with Barbara Adams, who arrived for jury duty every day for the Whitewater trial wearing her Star Trek Lieutenant Commander's uniform. But Adams is just one of the many devoted Trekkies interviewed by the narrator, Denise Crosby, in this very amusing documentary.
