Little does Lucy know that Jerry is still in love with her, and, as they set out to sabotage each other's plans to remarry, the fun begins. Leo McCarey won an Oscar for Best Director, and several other nominations were received, including Best Picture, Actress, and Supporting Actor (Bellamy).

War is inevitable, and Sylvania sends Chicolini (Chico Marx) and Pinky (Harpo Marx) to spy on Firefly and become members of his cabinet. Firefly declares war on Sylvania, and after more than a few double-crosses, Freedonia wins. This movie is silly, zany, crafty, and VERY entertaining.

In the film, Father O'Malley is sent to the parish to help the elderly Father Fitzgibbon. It is a heartwarming story about their developing friendship. To top off the Oscars, it also won for Best Song: "Swinging on a Star."

After Grace and her group dress up as Indians for a 4th of July demonstration against the planned missile site, they learn that the site will bring employment to their town. Harry and Grace embrace, but they accidentally push a lever that launches a missile containing Captain Hoxie, and he goes up in space.

Effie passes off Ruggles as an upper-class British officer, and he ends up a town celebrity. Later, Ruggles decides to open his own restaurant and gain independence. A fine rendition of Harry Leon Wilson's story that was filmed twice before and made again in 1950 as "Fancy Pants." The film was nominated for an Oscar as Best Picture.
