This made-for-TV film is based on A.R. Gurney's play, "The Middle Ages." Barney (John Ritter) meets Eleanor (Mel Harris)–who would become his brother's wife–and it's love at first sight. Years pass in Barney's upper-crust Boston family's life until, 27 years later, Barney again meets his long-time love Eleanor at a funeral. True to many plays, most of the film takes place in one room.
