  While recovering from a fall she took while picking oranges, a young girl, Alexandria (Catinca Untari) makes friends with hospitalized paraplegic stuntman Roy Walker (Lee Pace) who tells her a story interweaving her family and hospital friends into the eerie tale of bandits, palaces, and evil rulers. In Walker's story, Pace takes the role of the Black Bandit and Untari plays his long lost daughter who joins his group seeking revenge on the evil Governor Odious (Daniel Caltagirone).
