  This volcano-disaster film features Pierce Brosnan as the scientist, Harry Dalton, who finds evidence that the mountaintop is about to blow. He tries to warn neighboring citizens to get off Dante's Peak because their lives are threatened, and–of course–few will heed his advice. Linda Hamilton plays the town's mayor, Rachel Wando, and also, of course, becomes the romantic interest of Harry. Great special effects!

But Ben's wife (Penelope Ann Miller) decides to head there too to see what's going on, including whether or not there is a son or just a rekindling of an affair. This comedy/drama is disappointing, especially considering the cast.
