One of the best of all time.Dolores 03/27/2007
I can't believe this is only rated 3 stars and "An Almost Perfect Affair" is rated 2. L'Avventura is one of the great films of all time. It is slow-paced, it is contemplative, it is also stunningly beautiful and hypnotic, so stick with it. Monica Vitti turns in a performance of aching vulnerability and sensitivity. The cinematography is some of the best of all time. This film will haunt you in all the best ways. It is extremely honest, mysterious, and ambiguously hopeful. Please give it a chance.

Director: Louis Malle
Cast: Lea Massari, Benoit Ferreux, Daniel Gelin, Michael Lonsdale, Ave Ninchi, Gila von Weitershausen, Fabien Ferreux, Marc Winocourt, Micheline Bona, Henri Poirier

The incestuous affair involving a precocious 15 year old (Benoit Ferreux) and his mother (Lea Massari) is treated sensibly and with humor in this good coming-of-age film.
