Lawrence Kasdan's thought-provoking film concerns the reunion of a group of 1960s' liberals after a friend's funeral. During the weekend they are together, the "thirtysomething" friends share their past experiences, relationships, and the challenges of adulthood. Good performances, especially by Glenn Close. Body Heat 1981 R, 113 min. Genre: Drama / Mystery / Thriller
Director: Lawrence Kasdan Cast: William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Richard Crenna, Mickey Rourke, Ted Danson, J.A. Preston, Kim Zimmer, Jane Hallaren, Lanna Saunders, Carola McGuinness, Michael(3) Ryan, Lynn Hallowell, Larry Marko, Thom Sharp, Deborah Lucchesi
This is a steamy film with a well-written script about dull, Florida lawyer Ned Racine (William Hurt) who has a relationship with an intriguing woman Matty (Kathleen Turner) who he first sees at an outdoor concert. Later, Matty invites Ned into her home and manipulates him into killing her older husband, Edmund (Richard Crenna). Matty uses Ned because she believes that his legal expertise will ensure not getting caught. But, unplanned events turn the "easy" killing into something else, and Matty and Ned become prime suspects. A real sizzler by Lawrence Kasdan.

Wyatt Earp 1994 PG-13, 190 min. Genre: Western
Director: Lawrence Kasdan Cast: Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid, Mare Winningham, Gene Hackman, David Andrews, Linden Ashby, Bill Pullman, Isabella Rossellini, Jeff Fahey, Michael Madsen
This complex rendering of the life of Wyatt Earp (Kevin Costner) explains how Earp's childhood affected his later life (His father taught him to distrust all men–except for family). For those interested in comparisons, "My Darling Clementine," "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral," and "Tombstone" provide glaring discrepancies in the Wyatt Earp persona. Also of interest in this film is the evidence of women and families on the settling of the West.
