  In this made-for-TV offering of Mark Twain's story, Tom Sawyer (Dan Monahan) joins his best friend Huckleberry Finn (Kurt Ida) as they help runaway slave Jim (Brock Peters). The trio drifts down the Mississippi River on a raft, and, along the way, they run into con-men "the Duke" (Forrest Tucker) and "the Dauphin" (Larry Storch) and inadvertently become involved in their schemes.

  This film adaptation of Leo Rosten's tragi-comedy bestseller is about Army neuropsychiatrist Dr. Newman (Gregory Peck) whose patients suffer breakdowns from battle fatigue. His job is to heal his patients and return them to active duty. But, he needs more help and gets it in the form of new arrivals–orderly Jackson Leibowitz (Tony Curtis) and nurse Lt. Francie Corum (Angie Dickinson). Jackson performs more than his fair share of pranks, but he aids Newman and Francie in dealing with the traumatized patients. Meanwhile, Newman and Francie are attracted to each other, and a romance blooms.

Highlight: the Academy Award-nominated song, "The Sweetheart Tree" sung by Maggie (Natalie Wood).

But everything changes when they meet, and romance is definitely in the air–despite the fact that Bob is married–although maybe not legally–to Sylvia (Lauren Bacall). Problems ensue, which all lead to a wild taxi chase on the freeway where things are finally sorted out.

  This movie is a must see, for anyone who loves a good slapstick flick. I love it when Dom does the Dracula bit, it's hilarious!!! If you need a good laugh, definitly watch this movie
