One snowy afternoon in upstate NY, Kim (Patricia Clarkson) and George (Jake Weber), along with eight-year-old son Miles (Erik Per Sullivan), are driving to a country home when their car hits a deer. The family is immediately confronted by angry hunters who have now lost their chance for a trophy after trailing the deer all day. One hunter, Otis (John Speredakos), seems particularly aggressive. On arriving at their cabin, Kim and George spot a bullet hole in the window and suspect the work of Otis. As events get more and more weird, Miles embraces Wendigo, which, according to Native American myth, is an unpredictable spirit that moves about wreaking havoc. Myth and Mile's imagination combine in this tale of horror.
