Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer 1964 N/R, 52 min. Genre: Animation / Family / Fantasy / Musical
Director: Kizo Nagashima, Larry Roemer Cast: Burl Ives, Larry D. Mann, Billie Mae Richards, Paul Soles, Stan Francis, Janet Orenstein, Alfie Scopp, Carl Banas, Corinne Conley, Peg Dixon, Paul Kligman
This is the now-classic animated, Christmastime TV offering of young Rudolph, the reindeer that was rejected because of his shiny nose. Sam the Snowman (voice of Burl Ives) tells Rudolph's story as the reindeer heads off on an adventure with his elf friend Hermie (voice of Paul Soles). When he comes to an island of misfit toys, Rudolph (voice of Billie Mae Richards) heads back to the North Pole to talk the cranky Santa (voice of Stan Francis) into helping the toys. With Christmas Eve at hand and fog covering the area, Santa has a "bright" idea. Filled with good songs.
