Christmas is approaching, and Nancy takes the children to the mall to see Santa. Emily has overheard her mother saying that all she wants for Christmas is a compliment from a man, and that's what she tells Santa. Santa is actually a struggling songwriter, Ben Armstrong (Morris Chestnut), who falls for Nancy, and they begin dating. All goes well–until Ben meets rap impresario J.Jizzy (Charles Q. Murphy) who wants to record Ben's songs, and they become partners. But there is a problem: J.Jizzy just happens to be Nancy's ex-husband, and John-John, who is determined to get his parents back together, wants Ben out of their lives.
