World War III has come and gone. There are just a few survivors, and they are fighting over what is left in gasoline. In this exciting sequel to "Mad Max," Max (Mel Gibson), who has been wandering the Australian outback following the death of his wife and child, comes to the rescue. The survivors hire Max to aid them in protecting their oil refinery that is under siege by a band of sadomasochistic motorcyclists led by The Humungus (Kjell Nilsson) and his warrior Wez (Vernon Wells). The climax, featuring a thrilling car chase scene, is the highlight of this film.
