  CB4 stands for the name of the rap group, Cell Block 4. Its members–CB4 leader Albert, aka MC Gusto (Chris Rock); Otis, aka Stab Master Arson (Deezer D); and Euripides, aka Dead Mike (Allen Payne)–use a scheme of pretending to be gang members to make their message appear more realistic. They rise to fame only to be threatened by the real Gusto (Charles Q. Murphy) who learns of their scam and wants a share of the profits.

  During April, 1992–just five days before four White LAPD officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King–Special Investigations Squad veteran Eldon Perry (Kurt Russell) and rookie Bobby Keough (Scott Speedman) are sent to investigate a quadruple homicide. It doesn't take long for young Bobby to become disillusioned. He witnesses Perry's unethical tactics and the department's corruption when orders go out to kill two sex criminals and pin the homicide on them.

  In this sequel, Kid (Christopher Reid) is planning to marry his girlfriend Veda (Angela Means), and Play (Christopher Martin) is managing the female rap act, "Sex as a Weapon" that he books with promoter Showboat (Michael Colyar) for a show. When "Sex as a Weapon" fires Play, he knows that it will upset Showboat if they do not appear for his show and tries to find a way to get them to perform. Meanwhile, Play arranges Kid's bachelor party, and, of course, after a number of problems, the big bash does take place providing fun for all.

  Inner city violence is the theme of this story about 18-year-old drug-dealer Caine Lawson (Tyrin Turner) trying to find an escape from the street culture in the projects of Watts. Caine's father (Samuel L. Jackson) was a drug dealer, but he and Caine's drug addicted mother have now both died, and his grandparents have kicked him out of their house. Caine's one hope to break out of his lifestyle is Ronnie (Jada Pinkett Smith) who is a single mother trying to find her way out of Watts. A love affair between Caine and Ronnie leads to the decision to move south to Atlanta. But, tragedy lies ahead as they prepare to leave.

The characters in this story are multidimensional and provide good entertainment.
