Stockbroker Jon Aldrich (Tom Selleck) lives the good life with his wife Audrey (Wendy Crewson) and kids–until his parents (Don Ameche and Anne Jackson) move in with them. The move triggers problems: Audrey moves out, and then Jon is fired for insider trading. As if things were not bad enough, Jon's sister, Arlene (Christine Ebersole), moves in with him and brings her kids along. What more could go wrong?
