Homophobic Alex struggles with his conscience but concedes. Too many subplots interfere with this story.

In this 3-D remake of the 1981 film, Jensen Ackles takes on the role of Tom Hanniger who causes an accident on Valentine's Day in his father's mine that leaves six men dead. Exactly one year later, Warden awakens and seeks revenge with a pick-axe by first killing people at the hospital and then heading to the mine where he continues the killings–until Sheriff Burke (Tom Atkins) shoots Warden and leaves him for dead. Tom flees Harmony after the violence but returns exactly 10 years later when his father dies, and Tom must sell the mine. The sheriff is now Tom's old friend Axel Palmer (Kerr Smith), and he is married to Tom's ex-girlfriend Sarah (Jaime King). Just as Tom returns, a new series of pick-axe murders take place, and Tom, Sarah, and Axel are faced with the terror that Warden might be the perpetrator–or is he?
