Charley is about to be released from prison, so Panhandle is planted in the prison with the mission of finding out from Charley where the loot is hidden. While Panhandle is sleeping, Charley draws a map leading to the gold on the bottom of Panhandle's foot. When they are released from prison, Charley forces Panhandle to go with him back to his old gang, and Charley, unaware of the map on his foot, becomes an important player in retrieving the loot. Plenty of songs and humor.

That effort fails, but other attempts are made–including framing Jim for murder. Will Jim be hung for the murder, or will Reed finally be stopped.

The spaceship's aliens are only trying to fix their ship and leave, but now Sheriff Matt Warren (Charles Drake) intervenes, and lives are threatened.

Michelle agrees to the plan, and all goes well–until Sam falls in love with Michelle. Meanwhile, con-man Frankie Cannon (Ernie Kovacs) plots to convince Michelle to help him steal George and Sam's gold claim. By story's end, Sam, George, Billy, and Michelle join forces to protect the gold, and Sam and Michelle discover their love for each other.
