  Scheming housewife Phyllis Dietrickson (Samantha Eggar) seduces insurance salesman Walter Neff (Richard Crenna) into helping her in a scheme to murder her husband (Arch Johnson). Neff's job will be to falsify the accident insurance that carries a double indemnity clause, which will pay twice as much if he is killed in a train accident. The scheme works–until Neff's boss Barton Keyes (Lee J. Cobb) suspects foul play and investigates.

  Jack Griffith (Jackie Gleason) is a wealthy, lovable alcoholic whose wife Amberlyn (Glynis Johns) can't handle any more of his pranks. When their daughter Augusta (Laurel Goodwin) wanted the pony she saw in the circus parade, Jack bought her the entire circus. That was the final straw for Amberlyn who flees to her father's (Charles Ruggles) home in Texarkana. Jack, of course, follows in hot pursuit. This film won the Academy Award for Best Song: "Call Me Irresponsible."

  Based on Robert Ruark's novel, this is the story of childhood friends Kimani (Sidney Poitier) and Peter McKenzie (Rock Hudson) who, despite one being Black and the other White, had grown up like brothers in British East Africa. Now, as adults, their relationship is shattered when Peter sides with British colonialism, and Kimani joins the brutal Mau-Maus in their uprising in Kenya.
