  Bastian Bux (Jonathan Brandis) is a young schoolboy who uses the world of books to escape from reality. In this sequel, Bastian returns to the dream world of Fantasia and joins young warrior Atreyu (Kenny Morrison) on a mission to save Fantasia from destruction caused by sorceress Xayide (Clarissa Burt). In the process, Bastian finds himself saving the Childlike Empress (Alexandra Johnes).
