  Ray (Robert Patrick), who runs a video store in the desert, picks up a hitchhiker, Harley (Jennifer Esposito), who recently got out of jail. She's on her way to get a fortune in stolen money out of a bank and asks for Ray's help. Perhaps that was a mistake on Ray's part since there are others who lay claim to the money.

  Stella (Sean Young) lives with her alcoholic ex-boyfriend Teo (Dylan Walsh) and spends her time picking up men for one-night stands. Desiring to become a chef, but happy in her adventures with men, she accepts her ex's offer of a one-way ticket to L.A. Once there, she gets a job as a chef, does well at it, but still likes to continue going through men. After falling for one, she starts thinking that perhaps it is time to settle down. But tragedy strikes. Sean Young is good in this otherwise weak effort.

  Steve Guttenberg wrote, produced, directed, and stars in this story based on James Kirkwood's novel and play. Jimmy Zoole (Guttenberg) has experienced a disastrous year; it is New Year's Eve and Jimmy's girlfriend has dumped him, the novel he is writing was stolen, his play closed after one night, and his cat has died. Now, to top off all the rest, he finds a burglar–gay comic Eddie (Lombardo Boyar)–hiding under his bed. Jimmy ties up Eddie, and they begin talking. By night's end, the two have bonded.
