Rob Hawkins (Michael Stahl-David) is enjoying his going-away party at a lower Manhattan loft. To ensure memories of the event, his friend Hud (T.J. Miller) is handed a mini-camcorder. The party is in full swing when, suddenly, something explodes in the night air, and the lights go out. The partygoers run down to the street where the air is filled with smoke. They spot the Statue of Liberty's head smashed in the street and a giant monster stomping through Manhattan. Now, Rob gets a call from his girlfriend Beth (Odette Yustman) telling him that she is trapped in a building. Rob and Hud are joined by Jason (Mike Vogel), Lily (Jessica Lucas), and Marlena (Lizzy Caplan), and they head off into the chaos to save Beth. With Hud's camera recording, the group encounters one horror after another in the middle of Manhattan, which is crumbling–block by block.

whomever came up with this premise for the movie must be a little strange but fun.
do not buy this if you are a conservative christian though, it may offend some.
just watch it and let your mind wonder people!

Harvey Milk (Sean Penn) was serving as a spokesman for the gay rights' movement when he was assassinated in 1978. This film involves the bigotry Milk experienced while organizing San Francisco's gay community to gain political clout and stand up for their rights. Milk is elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and fights for the rights of not only the gay community but senior citizens and union workers as well and, in the process, gives hope to those in need. Among his problems is his continuing battle with another supervisor, Dan White (Josh Brolin). The film won two Academy Awards, including Best Actor (Penn) and was nominated for six other Oscars, including Best Picture, Director, and Supporting Actor (Josh Brolin).
