it is a ROMANTIC-DRAMA not a comedy!ima 08/30/2009 
  the movie does not end well, and the female main character is suffering the last part of the movie...I for sure did not laugh at this movie, it was a sweet and romantic as well as sad, with lessons to learn in the end....it is NOT a comedy!

Victoria's father is Mexican-American winegrower Alberto Albertini (Giancarlo Giannini) who does not trust Paul even though her grandfather Don Pedro (Anthony Quinn) accepts him. Paul believes that if he sticks around for a few days and then leaves, he will be the bad one, and Alberto will vent his wrath on him instead of Victoria.
