  This is the film adaptation of Ruth Gordon's autobiography, "Years Ago." It tells the story of how Ruth (Jean Simmons) follows her dream to pursue a career in acting despite reservations by her father (Spencer Tracy). This film marks Anthony Perkins' film debut.
