Prospero wants to settle a score with Antonio because 12 years earlier, Prospero had ruled Milan–until Antonio interfered and sent Prospero and Miranda adrift at sea. Meanwhile, the spirit Ariel (Duane Black) magically sends Ferdinand to Miranda, and they fall in love. Ariel also plays a role in saving Prospero from half-man, half-beast Caliban (William Hootkins), and, by story's end, they are all–except Caliban–sailing back to Italy.
