His investigation results in inconsistencies concerning Walden's leadership of her downed helicopter crew. Ilario (Matt Damon) describes Walden as courageous, but Monfriez (Lou Diamond Phillips) remembers her actions as cowardly–leading Serling to question the wisdom of awarding Walden the Medal of Honor.

But that's not all. Paula eventually takes over the soul of Ely's daughter Roxanne (Barbara Parkins). The musical score provides an eerie background.
