By this time, Fitzgerald was an alcoholic whose life was made even more difficult with a mentally ill wife (Sissy Spacek)–although he had an affair with columnist Sheila Graham (Natalie Radford) during this time. Despite the secretary's best efforts to intercede, Fitzgerald died at a young age. Made for cable TV.
