The president of White Star Lines, Sir Bruce Ismay (Ernst Fritz Furbringer), wants to improve his company's stock and pushes the H.M.S. Titanic's Captain Edward J. Smith (Otto Wernike) to set a speed record for the voyage between England and New York City. This results in disaster when Smith does not pay attention to weather conditions, and the Titanic sinks after colliding with an iceberg. This German propaganda version of the sinking of the Titanic was filmed during World War II and places the blame squarely on the British, Americans, and Jews. An interesting look at the Nazi depiction of anti-English sentiment.
