Based on a true story and adapted from Adolph Burger's book "The Devil's Workshop," this is the tale of a counterfeiting program set up by the Nazis in 1936 to help fund their cause. Saloman (Karl Markovics) is a Jewish entrepreneur who is a master counterfeiter. When he is put in a concentration camp, his talents are noted, and he becomes a key contributor to the counterfeiting program. But team member Adolf (August Diehl) is attempting to undermine the operation. Thus begins the dilemma of choosing between helping the enemy–the Nazis–vs. the consequences of potentially losing their lives. An Academy Award was received for Best Foreign Language Film.
