Will Charlie and Jimmy be able to identify Rymer, solve the case, and save the canal?

Police suspect Mary, and she calls on the services of Honolulu detective Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler). Chan shows up with Number 2 son Jimmy (Victor Sen Yung) and, while investigating the murder, engages in a battle of wits with local sheriff Tombstone Fletcher (Slim Summerville) who questions Chan's investigating abilities.

They find that Flash's enemy Ming the Merciless (Charles Middleton) is behind it, working from Mars. Then, there's Ming's ally Queen Azara (Beatrice Roberts), who has the power to turn people into clay.
