Young Claire (Julia Brendler) travels to a remote island to recover from the untimely death of her lover and is taken under the wing of Celia (Lynn Redgrave), an eccentric writer. Celia shares her manuscript with Claire, which tells the story of another young woman, Silly (Kirsten Dunst), who lived there 50 years earlier and dealt with the curse that has haunted the island for hundreds of years.
