Shortly after boarding, Kyle takes a nap, and when she awakens Julia has disappeared. Passengers and crew help Kyle look for Julia, but when she is not found they have problems believing that Julia was on the plane, and Kyle is beginning to have doubts herself.

Jennifer has survived the shooting but remains comatose, and what at first looked like an open-and-shut case turns out to be not so easy when Ted begins finding holes in Willy's case. Willy's future employer, Nikki Gardner (Rosamund Pike), tries to get him to walk away, but Willy will not give up until the court puts Ted away for life.

As protective Black parents, Percy and Marilyn are shocked when they discover that Simon is a White male, and, to make matters worse, Percy suspects that Simon is lying about something. A relaxing weekend is not in the cards.

Meanwhile, Cyril's upper-middle class sister Valerie (Heather Tobias) and her philandering husband Martin (Philip Jackson) ignore Mrs. Bender–until Valerie decides to give Mrs. Bender a 70th birthday party and invite the whole family. The family does get together with disastrous results, but Shirley manages to hold things together.
