  Burt Reynolds is the voice of the rogue German Shepherd and Dom DeLuise is "Itchy" in this beautifully animated Don Bluth story set in the low-life area of New Orleans. Charlie B. Barkin (Reynolds) returns to Earth to do a good deed. The characters are interesting, and, the film is fun to watch.

  Police Chief Brody's (from the original "Jaws") son has taken over his father's job and is killed by a shark. His mother, Ellen (Lorraine Gary), decides to leave the horrors of Amity behind and heads to the Bahamas to join her other son and his family. But–the shark follows her, wanting, presumably, to finish off the family. Terrible ending to the series.

Along the way, Littlefoot joins other orphaned dinosaurs–including Ducky (voice of Judith Barsi) and Petrie (voice of Will Ryan)–and they experience adventures as they learn the art of survival. Steven Spielberg was executive producer of this delightful children's film. This and subsequent films in the series are great for young children.
