Massachusetts Institute of Technology senior Ben (Jim Sturgess) needs money to pay for medical school next year at Harvard. Ben joins a group from MIT who, using fake I.D.s, head for Las Vegas to beat the odds. Robert "Fish" Fishman (Rainn Wilson) was once the drummer for the band "Vesuvius" until the band members dumped him, signed a new contract, and became stars. Their son Matt (Josh Gad) and guitarist Curtis (Teddy Geiger) have formed a band, A.D.D., and when they lose their drummer, Fish fills in.
