Taking on their original roles from the HBO series, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis provide the emotional ups and downs that are at the center of this story. Carrie (Parker) is still an author and lives in a huge penthouse apartment on Fifth Avenue with Mr. Big (Chris Noth) who she plans to marry. Miranda (Nixon) is busy juggling her law career with motherhood while living in Brooklyn with husband Steve (David Eigenberg) and their young son. Meanwhile, Charlotte (Davis) and her husband Harry (Evan Handler) are living happily with their adopted Chinese daughter, and Samantha (Cattrall) is living in Malibu with actor "Smith" (Jason Lewis) whose career she manages. Breakups and reconciliations ensue as the women experience good and bad phases of life and, hopefully, learn from their experiences.
