A chance for change appears in the form of Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney) who wants to leave Brooklyn and move to the big city of Manhattan. After Stephanie and Tony enter a dance competition as partners, Tony's life is destined to change forever. Travolta was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar. Sequel: "Staying Alive."

| | Beautiful movie...underrated gem! | Anonymous 04/13/2009 | | I love this movie. Amy Irving did an excellent job in this film, and the theme song "I Will Always Wait For You" is just beautiful. |
