Short Eyes 1977 R, 104 min. Genre: Drama aka: Slammer
Director: Robert M. Young Cast: Bruce Davison, Jose Perez, Nathan George, Don Blakely, Shawn Elliott, Mark Margolis, Curtis Mayfield, Miguel Pinero, Tito Goya, Joseph Carberry, Bob Maroff, Keith Davis, Bob O'Connell, Richard Matamoros, Freddy Fender
Based on Miguel Pinero's play, this is a powerful story about prison life. Short Eyes is prison lingo for "child molester," and Bruce Davison takes on that role as prisoner Clark Davis at "The Tombs"–the Manhattan House of Detention–whose fellow detainees treat him as they would the lowest form of life. Many in the cast are not professional actors; instead they are former convicts, and this adds to the believability of the story.

Stick 1985 R, 109 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Burt Reynolds Cast: Burt Reynolds, Candice Bergen, George Segal, Charles Durning, Jose Perez, Alex Rocco, Richard Lawson, Dar Robinson, Tricia Leigh Fisher, Castulo Guerra
How can Burt Reynolds be so good in some films and so bad in others? This time, he is the latter, but his fans will enjoy the comedy he provides to save this movie as he plays an ex-con out to seek revenge for the killing of his friend.

The Sting II 1983 PG, 102 min. Genre: Comedy
Director: Jeremy Kagan Cast: Jackie Gleason, Mac Davis, Teri Garr, Karl Malden, Oliver Reed, Bert Remsen, Ron Rifkin, Jose Perez, Larry Bishop, Monica Lewis
This is nowhere close to being the film that its predecessor was, but there is a little fun here and there. Jackie Gleason and Mac Davis are the heroes (in Paul Newman's and Robert Redford's roles) in this one about fixing a boxing match to get Karl Malden.
