Before he became a leader of the Cuban Revolution, Che Guevara (Gael Garcia Bernal) and his friend, Alberto Granado (Rodrigo De la Serna), were medical students who motorcycled across South America on their way to a leper colony. This is the story of that adventure. The film won an Academy Award for Best Original Song ("Al Otro Lado Del Rio") and received one other nomination.
